A Touch of Spice Apple Dip New Years Recipe
What You Need:
- 2 tart apples, grated
- 1 t lemon juice
- 1/4 t cinnamon
- 1/4 t nutmeg
- 1/8 t cloves
- 1 C prepared Ranch dressing
- 1 T horseradish
How to Make It:
- Put the grated apples into a large mixing bowl.
- Sprinkle the apples with the lemon juice and toss to coat.
- Add in the cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
- Stir in the Ranch dressing to completely cover the apples.
- Add in the horseradish and stir to insure all the ingredients are incorporated together well.
- Cover and chill at least 1 hour or until completely chilled through.
Serving Size: 2 C
Slice sweet apples to serve with the slightly spicy dip. This dip also tastes great on broccoli flowerets and small pieces of cauliflower.

Baked Swiss Cheese Dip
What You Need:
- 2 C sweet onion, chopped
- 2 C Swiss cheese, shredded
- 2 C mayonnaise
How to Make It:
- Place the oven on 350 degrees and allow the oven to heat while assembling the dip.
- Dump the onions into a mixing bowl.
- Pour in the Swiss cheese.
- Fold in the mayonnaise being sure to incorporate all the ingredients together well.
- Spread the dip into an ungreased 9 in glass pie plate.
- Bake 55 minutes, remove and allow the dip to cool slightly.
Serving Size: 2 C
Serve this dip with crackers, scoop chips or fresh vegetables. Add a little color to the dip by stirring in 2 T of red pimentos or 1 C of chopped green pepper before baking.
Two Sausage Cheese Spread
What You Need:
- 1 lb mild Italian sausage
- 1 lb hot Italian sausage
- 1 lb Velveeta cheese, cubed
- 1/4 t garlic powder
- 1/4 t Worcestershire sauce
How to Make It:
- Crumble both types of sausage into a large skillet.
- Over medium heat cook the sausage 8 minutes or until completely browned.
- Drain the fat from the sausage.
- Return the drained sausage to the skillet.
- Turn the heat to low and add the cheese cubes.
- Stirring often allow the cheese to melt completely.
- Stir in the garlic powder and Worcestershire sauce.
- Remove from the heat, place in a bowl and serve warm.
Serving Size: 2 C
Serve this tasty treat with crackers or on Melba toast rounds. This can be made ahead of time and kept in the freezer until ready to use. To reheat place in a microwave safe bowl and microwave on high 2 minutes or until completely heated through, stirring occasionally.
Corned Beef Mini-wiches
What You Need:
- 1 (20 in) loaf of French bread cut in half horizontally
- 1/2 C Thousand Island dressing
- 1/2 lb corned beef, sliced thin
- 8 (1 oz) slices of Swiss cheese cut into 2 in long slices
How to Make It:
- Turn on the broiler and allow it to heat while preparing the mini-wiches.
- Line a broiler pan with aluminum foil.
- Spread the dressing on the open side of the bread.
- Layer the bread halves with the corned beef and Swiss cheese slices.
- Broil the mini-wiches 6 in from the heat for 5 minutes or until the cheese has completely melted.
- When cool enough to handle cut each side of bread into 2 in pieces.
Serving Size: 24
